Geno the Ice Cream Van
We have made the most of the lovely warm summer days and had the ice cream van out again! The residents and staff loved seeing Geno and his son and ordering ice cream from the ‘Ice Cream Man’.
Once again thank you to Geno’s Gelato for making this possible.
COVID is still very much part of our lives unfortunately and we are monitoring this and keeping a close eye on the R-rate as well as risk assessing the safest way to go about visits with your loved ones. I need to ensure the safety of my residents first and foremost, my staff and also visiting families. We review our visiting policy each month and currently feel that we have the safest option in place.
We will keep Tuesdays and Thursdays available at 10:30, 12:00 and 14:00. These need to be booked with the Admin Office, and remember they are for 30 minutes only.
In colder or wet weather, we will open up the Hub for visits as this a space we can easily disinfect between visits. We have stayed COVID free this long I would hate for it to go to waste by becoming complacent.
Most of you will have noted we now have an In-House Hairdresser and this is being billed via the monthly invoices. Prompt payment via Cheque or Bank Transfer to the usual account will be most appreciated.
This month our topic is ‘Circus’.
I have had a lovely conversation with one of the residents about clowns recently and thought this would be a good way to encourage recall. So, if anyone has an anecdote of going to the circus or memories of first visits or taking their children to the circus please let us know.
Meet the Staff
Do you know Emilie?
She’s currently studying Law with French Law, and hopes to complete her degree next year. She enjoys kayaking, has lived in France for a year and speaks fluent French. Her sister Gabby works in the Servery.
This month we have three new members of staff starting with us. A huge welcome to Ellie, Kirsty and Stacey who are joining our Care Team.
We would also like to say good luck to Emilie Vincent as she goes back to University this month. She joined our team before lockdown as she wanted to be of use while Universities were closed. She was an absolute star and always had a smile on her face even in full PPE. She will stay on as bank staff so will help out in her holidays.
Claudia will be going on Maternity leave this month, we would like to wish her all the best and hopes she enjoys her time off before the baby comes. We will really miss her but know she will love being a Mum.
Karen Coe has taken up a position at a new home, she feels she is ready for a new challenge and we wish her all the best. Huge thanks for all the work she has put in on Activities over the last 12 months
